勞伯．伯恩斯是十九世紀的蘇格蘭詩人，在一般作家正要綻放文采的三十七歲時，變英年早逝，在他短暫的生命中，他不僅成為蘇格蘭最重要的詩人之一，且後世研究者發現，他同時也是優秀的民謠作曲家以及採編者，經由他的採集彙編，許多古老珍貴的歌謠才得以保存下來。他所整理的歌謠四百首的歌謠，不少是已近失傳的作品。為了紀念這位偉大詩人兩百年誕辰，Linn推出至今最大手筆的製作，計劃中，將以十二張CD，收錄所有伯恩斯採錄整理的四百首歌謠，且動員所有蘇格蘭最優秀的民謠歌手，一起來為蘇格蘭文化保留最原始的聲音。這些歌手們，將以忠於原味的方式來詮釋這些歌曲，用自然不造作的演唱，加上單純直接的樂器伴奏，這是Linn向伯恩斯致敬的獻禮，也代表著當代蘇格蘭歌手樂手們對自己的本土文化所盡的心意。CD內所附的說明，完整的包括伯恩斯採擷的民謠詩詞，聆聽這些純樸質真的聲音，以及閱讀這些典雅的詩句，相信每個人都會為蘇格蘭文化所深深吸引。
